When we came to the Grand Massif for the first time we just fell in love with the area. The skiing is wonderful, without crowds, the villages are full of character and the scenery stunning. We then spent a summer holiday and had so much fun that we felt we had found the perfect place.

We knew this was where we wanted to keep returning to and so we plucked up courage to buy some land and build “Chalet Criou”. The chalet is named after the mountain Criou, which can be seen from most of the rooms of the chalet and from the veranda and garden.

In designing the chalet our main aim has been to ensure that it is comfortably fitted, warm and cosy.

We hope that people will return from a day in the mountains and find that they are living in a really relaxing home. Indeed in the summer you might find it hard to tear yourself away from a day by the pool surrounded by the beautiful scenery.

The chalet is surrounded on 3 sides by the garden and has a heated swimming pool. The pool is surrounded by an attractive fence, which protects children and animals.

There is a barbeque and garden furniture. The pool is open from June – September.

For the cooler months of the year the chalet is well heated with underfloor heating and convector heaters. In the living room there is a gas fired wood burning stove.

GROUND FLOOR

HALL - There is a storage area for coats, boots, fishing rods etc. There is direct access into the garage to unload the car. Skis can be stored in the garage.

BEDROOM ONE – is a double bedroom with twin beds, wardrobe with hanging space and shelves, dressing table, bedside tables and lamps. It looks out over the garden to the fields and mountains beyond, adjoining is a SHOWER ROOM – with w.c. and washbasin.

UTILITY ROOM – with washing machine and separate tumble dryer.

FIRST FLOOR

THE LANDING – opens into the large living/dining room, which in turn leads into the kitchen. There is a w.c. off the landing.

THE LIVING ROOM – has a large dining table that can seat 10 comfortably, two settees, tables etc and a fireplace. There are French windows to make it light and airy and also to take advantage of the beautiful views of the mountains around. The principal mountain being “Criou” after which the chalet is named. The French windows open on to a large balcony and veranda, from which stairs lead down to the garden. There is a large table with chairs on the veranda for meals outside.

There is a television and DVD in the lounge. We have a selection of DVD's and videos for all ages. The TV is tuned into UK terrestrial channels, such as BBC/ITV. There is also a CD player.

KITCHEN – this is fitted with a large built in fridge/freezer, four plate hob and oven with extractor, sink and dishwasher. You will find it well equipped for cooking meals and there is plenty of china, glasses, etc. for ten people.

BEDROOM TWO – is a double bedroom, with double bed and ensuite bathroom. There is a shower over the bath and all the usual fitments are present. The bedroom has a wardrobe, chest of drawers, etc. and French windows lead directly onto the veranda.

SECOND FLOOR Landing – with mezzanine area with a double sofabed, chest of drawers, table, satellite TV and video. This is a great place if you have children who want to watch TV etc. whilst the adults can sit in peace in the living room!

BEDROOM THREE – is a double bedroom with twin beds, wardrobe with hanging space and shelves, dressing table, etc. and door leading onto the balcony.

BEDROOM FOUR – is a double bedroom with twin beds, wardrobe with shelves and hanging space, dressing table, it too has a door onto the balcony.

LARGE BATHROOM – bath with shower over, w.c. and washbasin.

N.B We also have two Z beds which can be used if you prefer them to the sofa bed. There is also a travel cot, highchair and buggy available.
